This is a great replacement for Scout rifles, a Scout-type gun build, or MK14 Navy, M39EMR/USMC weapon. Very accurate out to 900+ yards with good grade of ammo such as M118LR or U.S.N. MK316 ammo.

The SEI P/N 2013 GLFS-D-18 gas lock, made from fatigue proof steel, has the correct deck height that allows the use of a standard USGI front sight, or one of our bar stock sights (shown below): P/N 2055 USGI replacement, P/N 2004 National Match with .062” blade, P/N 2018 Tritium Bar Stripe, or P/N2019 Tritium Dot.

Our barrels will shoot 1 MOA with M118LR or any of the 168 gr. factory match ammo. USGI LC M80 ball or any of the U.S. made M80 ball (with the exception of Portuguese 147grn. from the 1980’s) will shoot under 2 MOA most of the time.

We recommend that you use the P/N 2001V SOCOM Kit, The SEI gas lock, made from fatigue proof steel, has the correct deck height that allows the use of a standard USGI front sight, or one of our bar stock sights (shown below): P/N 2055 USGI replacement, P/N 2018 Tritium Bar Stripe, P/N2019 Tritium Dot, or P/N 2004 National Match. We also recommend replacement of the standard rear sight with P/N 2020, that uses a smaller aperture for better accuracy.

The dove tail deck will fit any USGI type front sight, including:
P/N 2055 SEI/USGI standard front sight
P/N 2004 NM .062
P/N 2018 Tritium Bar Stripe
P/N 2019 Tritium Dot

If you are using this with an 18 inch barrel:
18" barrels will shoot higher than 22" barrels. To compensate, SEI recommends P/N 2012 GLFS-D-18, or P/N 2013 GLFS-D-18 Gas Lock that is at the correct height, mated to a standard front sight such as the ones mentioned above. Springfield Armory uses a taller front sight like the Springfield Scout.

Limited civilian availability. A must for high stress or cold weather applications. Standard issue on USN & USAF MK14's and US Army M14SE's.

Current design does not allow the bolt to close with an empty magazine inserted (but it can be closed if the magazine follower is pressed down).

CAUTION – the extended bolt stop/release is designed to make access and manipulation of the bolt much easier and faster. Therefore, DO NOT REST THE WEAPON ON ITS SIDE OR LEAVE IT UNATTENDED if the bolt is locked back and a loaded magazine is in the receiver. ALWAYS KEEP THE SAFETY ENGAGED.
